One of the interested spectators as Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless draw against Ajax Cape Town in the first of the two-legged MTN 8 semifinal on Saturday was new signee and former Ajax player, Willard Katsande.

The Zimbabwean international penned a three-year deal with the Glamour Boys two weeks ago, with Football Manager Bobby Motaung revealing to kaizerchiefs.com that “the boy has something special”.

“It was a tough game for us and perhaps the reason might be that we have played too many games at the early stage of the season,” said Willard on Monday morning just before the training session.

“It was better that the draw we played at home did not have any goals. It will be important for us to score in Cape Town. In fact we will not be going for another draw there but will play to win the game.

“I never had an opportunity to catch up with some of my former Ajax teammates. I never had the opportunity to say goodbye to them but if I get an opportunity on Saturday the only thing that will be on my mind is to help my team proceed to the next stage of the competition.”

Katsande is aware though that before he and his teammates can start thinking about Cape Town they have Bidvest Wits on Wednesday at FNB Stadium.

“We cannot underestimate the importance of our game against Bidvest Wits this coming Wednesday. We have had a good start this season and we just need to keep the momentum,” said Katsande.
