“We are going into this game looking at finishing on a high,” said coach Steve Komphela ahead of Kaizer Chiefs’ trip to the University of Pretoria on Wednesday night. “We remain focused and dedicated to finishing on a high note to give us a lead going to the next season.”

Chiefs and the University of Pretoria will lock horns in the ABSA Premiership match under the floodlights at the TUKS Stadium on Wednesday, 27 April. The 27th of April is celebrated as Freedom Day on the South African calendar.

“The players are aware of what is at stake,” said Komphela. “We have to go for three points and at the same time respect Tuks as the opponents.”

Tuks under coach Shaun Bartlett are fighting to stay clear off the relegation zone and have been doing well. According to coach Komphela, “You can see a change and a new energy in their team since Shaun (Bartlett) took over. We will be aware of the danger they pose but, we will use our strength to overpower them.”

Komphela revealed that Camaldine Abraw is ruled out with a knee injury while at the same time confirming the suspension of William Twala. “Abraw sustained the injury in training and Twala has accumulated four yellow cards,” said Komphela. The good news is that Reneilwe Letsholonyane is back in the squad and will be available for selection.

Amakhosi go into the match occupying position four on the log with 41 points while Tuks occupy fourteenth spot with 21 points. Both teams have played 25 matches.

Goals from Bernard Parker for Chiefs and Tebogo Monyai for Tuks saw the points shared in the first round of this fixture played at the FNB Stadium on 23 September 2015.

Kick-off is at 19:30. Tickets are sold at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers for R40.
