Lucky Baloyi was in fine form when Kaizer Chiefs beat Bloemfontein Celtic 4-1 to win the Sparta Macufe Cup on Sunday, even creating a penalty for Bernard Parker to slot the ball in the back of the net. The midfielder is now eagerly looking forward to Saturday’s match ‘at home’ at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium against Ajax Cape Town (kick-off is at 18:00).

“We were really hungry, we went there to do the business,” reflects Baloyi on winning the Macufe Cup. “We were very determined to get our hands on the trophy.”

Early in the season, Amakhosi already won the Carling Black Label Cup.

However, after the celebrations on Sunday, the team started to focus on the next mission: Chiefs’ first home game (out of three) in Durban with Ajax as the opponent.

“We have been preparing hard for this game,” says Baloyi about the upcoming league encounter. “Ajax have an intelligent coach in Roger de Sa. We need to be ready.”

About the trip to Durban, the midfielder adds: “We really look forward to mix again with our supporters there. They are always great and that’s another reason why we will travel to Durban determined to make our supporters happy. This means that we want to win.”

Amakhosi are on top of the Absa Premiership log at present with ten points from five games, while the Urban Warriors are down in 13th place with two points from four matches.

Tickets for the Ajax match are sold at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers at R60.
