Captain Itumeleng Khune has expressed excitement looking ahead to the final stretch of the 2013/14 Psl season. Khune sounded all confident at his Team's prospects of defending its Premiership trophy.

Khune pulled no punches during the interview with kaizerchiefs.com on Monday afternoon, declaring determination to keep the Psl trophy at Naturena.

The league is no longer in your own hands?

"I disagree without a shadow of a doubt. It is still in our hands and we are focussing on our mission to defend it. When the league began in August last year we set ourselves some goals. One of those goals was about winning every game we play, and that won't change now and all of a sudden. We are not depending on anyone to do us a favour," declared the "Spider-kid" Khune.

Free State Stars are battling to avoid the chop?

"They are not safe at the moment on the league table. They are lying 2nd from the bottom on the log. At this stage of the league every team is fighting its own battle. The race is on, on all fronts, all the Teams are gunning for something. We are chasing the league, SuperSport United and other Teams are fighting to stay in the Top-8. We will not take any Team let alone Free State Stars for granted. We will compete in any game to the best of our ability," commented "Captain my Captain" Khune.

"We are not used to having it easy. Most of the Teams raise the bar when they play against us. It is going to be an interesting last few days of the league. We have 9-points to play for in the league and every point matters during this business end of the league. We are excited about the race to the finishing line and can't wait to play on Wednesday night against Free State Stars," continued Khune.

The tickets for the much awaited clash taking place at Peter Mokaba Stadium, on the eve of the Workers Day, Wednesday, 30 April 2014, are selling for R40 at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers.

Gates will be opened at 16:30 and kickoff is at 19:30.
