Siyabonga Nkosi insisted that the Glamour Boys are on the ‘right track’ despite dropping their first points following an entertaining goalless draw played in front of enthusiastic fans at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Glamour Boys had 100% record leading to Free State to face Stars who had also won their first two games in the Absa Premiership.
“We knew that it was always going to be difficult going to face a good Free State Stars side who are hard to beat especially in their backyard. We did quite well in the first half creating a number of chances but the conditions made it difficult for us to convert them,” said the Newcastle born midfielder speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning.
“Credit to Free State Stars they came back very strong in the second half. We continued to fight towards the end and camped on their last attacking third. At the end of the day a point away in Free State is not a bad result. We came with one intention to win the game but things did not go our way.
Nkosi who collaborated well with his teammates was once again outstanding for Amakhosi in the heart of midfield continued that Amakhosi are still on the right track to win their first championship since 2005.
“It is early to talk about winning the league but it is an objective that we share as a Club to win the league this season. There is nothing that can make me happier than to win silverware this season.
“We have Black Leopards coming up on 15 September, at home and it will be important for us to return to our winning ways,” added Nkosi.
Chiefs remain on top of the Absa Premiership after three rounds with seven points (second placed Free State Stars also have seven points but Chiefs has a superior goal difference)
