"We are playing every match to win. It is in our culture to win and our stakeholders expect us to do well in all competitions," Communications Manager Vina Maphosa was speaking at a Sparta Macufe Cup Press Conference.
"We apply a similar check list to all the matches that we play and the Macufe Cup is no exception," Maphosa tells a packed to capacity Naval Hill Press Room.
A pause in domestic league action for the international break will be filled by the Macufe Cup. Both teams have already clashed this season in the Absa Premiership fixture where Chiefs had the upper hand over Bloemfontein Celtic.
"We were also attracted by the social responsibility part of the Macufe Cultural Festival. The support for soccer development and the National Bandana Day in support of the people who suffer with Leukemia Cancer are some of the elements that align with our strategy as a responsible Club," states Maphosa with supreme confidence.
"On the playing side, the Technical Team will make their selection closer to the match day. There's one certainty though, we will walk through the Free State Stadium tunnel with eleven players that are fully aware that the Chiefs badge will be at stake," says Maphosa ahead of a mouth-watering match awaiting to happen on Sunday at 15:30.
Both Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic have won the Macufe Cup 4 times. It is now a question of who will have the upper hand come Sunday 12, October.
