Jimmy Jambo has warned that the Glamour Boys are ready to put up the fight when the league program resumes on February 15.
‘Jambo Jet 747’ as the player is affectionately known has been hard at work together with his teammates since they reported back to training in the middle of the current month.
The league program will not get any tougher with matches against Jomo Cosmos (Wednesday, 15 February at Nelson Mandela Bay) and Soweto derby Moroka Swallows at home, FNB Stadium on Saturday 18th February.
“We have always come close since my arrival here and now it is time to step up and fight to finish on top,” said Jambo who has just signed a three year deal with the Club.
“There are no easy games in the PSL and we have to give Jomo Cosmos the respect they deserve. We cannot read much on where they are on the league. We are focusing on doing well as a team and take it one game at a time.
“Swallows game is important because it is a derby and it is our first game at home but we have to focus on Jomo Cosmos first. They showed the last time we met early in the season at home that they can be a force to be reckoned with and they will be fighting to move up the Absa Premiership table. We will have to be at our best."
Despite the team not playing competitive matches, Jambo revealed that preparations are going well; “We have not had lot of changes in the squad and the most important thing is for us to take where we left off in December. We were unlucky not to be beat AmaZulu in our last game but it was a good month. Now it is time to better that,” added Jambo who has fully recovered from the knock that saw him being substituted against AmaZulu.
