The young goalkeeper was reacting to the draw conducted over the weekend that saw South Africa being pitted against Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast in group B. On Group A, hosts Rwanda, Ghana, Cameroon and Mali will face each other. The two top teams in each group will qualify for the semi finals.
“It is a ‘group of death’ but we are not intimidated,” reacted the Kaizer Chiefs reserve goalkeeper.
Ngobeni told kaizerchiefs.com that the current Amajita team will be ready to take on the continent in one of the most anticipated youth tournaments in the continent.
“We have a good team and I believe that we can match Africa’s top sides like Nigeria. Nigeria for instance might use most of the players who played in the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup last year so they will be very strong. It is important that we remain mentally strong to match the some of top sides in the continent. It is going to be tough but we can make it,” he said.
