The Glamour Boys beat Supersport United in the final (2-1) earlier on the day they beat Bay United (2-0).
Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning, the Serbian warned that there is a lot of work ahead, “I am happy for the players following the intensive work we put during the two weeks camp. We played two games in six hours, which was difficult for the players. I am pleased but I think we can do much better than we did,” said Vermezovic.
“The tournament gave us an opportunity as a Technical Team to see our players how they cope in a game situation. It was also an opportunity to see if they understand my football philosophy as a coach. There are areas of concern and we will go back to training on Tuesday and sharpen up those areas.”
The cool, calm and collected coach revealed that he was pleased with the performance of the new players and George Lebese who scored the second goal in the final against Supersport United.
“It was good to see the new players getting into the score sheet, Knowledge Musona, Nkosinathi Nhleko and George Lebese. I think the other new guys like (Thomas) Sweswe and Tshifiwa Mmbooi also acquainted themselves very well.
We also had Abel Metsimetsi in goals who did well for us so I am pleased, but we must make sure we work together in ensuring that the players play to their true potential,” added the coach.
