Kaizer Chiefs will be playing in an unfamiliar territory at Dobsonville Stadium on Easter Sunday when they face one of the much acclaimed African football giants, ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast. The contest will determine the passage to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa shared some of the facts that make the clash a must attend:

Call for support at the stadium:

"When we played away in the Champions League, in Namibia, Mozambique and DRC the home supporters united against us in the stands. We urge South Africans to gather at Dobsonville Stadium, on Easter Sunday, to rally behind Kaizer Chiefs against one of the most acclaimed soccer teams in Africa, ASEC Mimosas,"

Soccer followers from different teams unite to support Kaizer Chiefs in Sunday:

"The South African flag will be hoisted alongside the Ivory Coast flag at Dobsonville. It is the clash of the 1998 CAF Champions League winners (ASEC Mimosas) and 2001 CAF Cup Winners Cup (Kaizer Chiefs). ASEC Mimosas will be looking at revenging the 1999 Vodacom Challenge 2 - 1 loss against the Amakhosi,"

Some interesting facts:

"ASEC Mimosas and Kaizer Chiefs were once coached by Philippe Troussier (White Witch Doctor). Troussier coached ASEC in 1989 - 1992 and Chiefs in 1994. ASEC Mimosas won the Peace Cup in 2001. Despite Kaizer Chiefs failing to win the 4-Team tournament played in South Korea in 2003, Chiefs walked away with the prestigious World Peace Cup Fair Play Award,"

The much-anticipated clash will take place at the 17 000 capacity Dobsonville Stadium, in Soweto on Easter Sunday, 20th of April 2014. Tickets are R40 for adults and CHILDREN under12 are at R10. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE at COMPUTICKET/SHOPRITE CHECKERS.

The gates will open at 12:00 and kickoff is billed for 15:00.
