Tefu Mashamaite put a faultless performance on Saturday against SuperSport United on Saturday and was rewarded with a ‘Man of the Match’ award.
The Polokwane born ‘no nonsense’ defender affectionately known at Naturena as ‘Masha’ was quick to point out that it was all about ‘teamwork’.
“It was a massive win for us,” said Mashamaite speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning.
“I was pleased with my contribution in the game but I think the award should go to all the players. We played as a team and did a fantastic job, we just have to keep going,”
“We are pleased to have made it two in a row following a difficult October month where we did not register a win.
It was the first ‘Man of the Match’ award for Mashamaite who was playing in front of his home crowd; “The supporters were incredible and of course I had my family and relatives here and I am delighted that we gave them the win. It is always nice to play in front of your home crowd and end up on a winning side.
“SuperSport United are never an easy side to play against and they proved again today that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Absa Premiership.
“The feeling is good in the camp. The spirit is fantastic among the players. We came here and fought for three points but we are not getting carried away. There is still a lot to be done. There are lot of games to be played hence we have to remain focused,” added Mashamaite.
