"We were supposed to win the game against Platinum Stars," states Kaizer Chiefs’ lanky centre-back Erick Mathoho, who was born in Limpopo’s Tshiondo village. "The way we conceded the two goals was unlike us. We didn't play well in the first half."

To reassure the Amakhosi fans, Mathoho adds: “We will review the tape of the match to see what happened before we play Chippa United on Saturday. We learnt a lesson and we will rectify our mistakes. I think we showed too much respect for Stars and that will not happen again against Chippa."

Mathoho admits looking forward to play again at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo, his province of birth: "I feel good playing anywhere in the world. Limpopo, however, is my home and I don’t want to disappoint the supporters here."

"The supporters love me here, not only because I am born in Limpopo, but because of Chiefs and the hard work I put in to represent the Chiefs badge. We can’t let the fans down in our match against Chippa. We want to remain on top of the log until the end of the season. We don't want to let any team come close to us."

Mathoho spoke ahead of the much awaited Absa Premiership match against Chippa United on Saturday early evening (kick-off at 18:00). The clash will attract big numbers, given Chiefs' Limpopo Takeover during this festive season.

The Kaizer Chiefs Roadshow, including for example KC Mobile and KC Insurance, will today (Thursday) be at Blouberg Plaza, Bochum, from 11am to 5pm. Supporters Branches and the public are invited to join in a fun filled Activation.
