Sphelele Mthembu made his second debut in Amakhosi colours against Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup. Mthembu first came to Chiefs and made a debut in the Vodacom Challenge in 2008. A contractual dispute resulted in Mthembu playing for archrivals Orlando Pirates.



Mthembu rejoined Chiefs from Platinum Stars this season and has vowed to work hard to cement his place in the Team.



Congratulations you made your debut on Saturday. How did you feel when your name was called up to warmup?



"I felt God's love through supporters. I was happy."



How did you feel running on to the pitch for the Team warmup before the game?



"It was amazing and it is always a good feeling. On the field is where I worship God through the talent He gave me."



Your walk on to the pitch before the game?



"Good thoughts came like rain, I was thinking of scoring goals."



Your first touch of the ball?



"After touching the ball for the first time I felt honoured, especially wearing the Gold & Black colors of Amakhosi."



Flashes of your initial arrival at Chiefs when you ended up playing for pirates?



"It is all God's will and I'm living his purpose. I just felt so honoured to be back home and becoming a part of the Chiefs family."



The crowd? How was the crowd's reception?



"I was welcomed with cheer. I felt the Love and Peace. It was very good and I will work hard to gain their trust. They are so awesome."



You draw much strength from God. What's your other inspiration?



"My spiritual family and biological family and most of all my son, they all give me the power to perform to the best of my ability."



Playing Aces in the MTN8 on Sunday - preview the match for the supporters what should they expect?



"At Chiefs it is all about winning. On Sunday it is a must win. We have to uphold the culture of winning at Chiefs. It's a responsibility."



You are a gold medalist from last year's MTN 8?



"Yes, I would love to have it with Amakhosi as well. It will be an amazing feeling to win it again and I want to win the cups with Chiefs."



How many goals did you score in the MTN 8 last season?



"I scored three goals in four matches. To God be the Glory. I thank the Holy Spirit for this wonderful chance with Chiefs."
