The last time the Amakhosi tasted the championship was in 2004/5 season and now it has been three seasons since they won the title.

The other motivation for the Club to challenge for the honours is the participation in the Champions League after being handed three-year burn by CAF three years ago.

Ertugral was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday after vociferous Chiefs fans that packed Super Stadium on Saturday cheered the Club on to another victory.

“Fans are crucial for the success of any team. We need that '12th man' on the field,” he said with a smile.

“On Saturday, the fans did not stop singing and blowing vuvuzela’s and that encouraged the boys to fight on and it was the same when Moroka Swallows led by 2-0 in Rustenburg the other week. I want to call upon all the fans to come and support the team in particular at this stage of the season. We have come a long way since the beginning of the season where we did not start well but have since turned things around,” he said.

Muhsin added that spirit in the camp is high and preparations for the upcoming game against AmaZulu are going well.

“Everyone is focused ahead of the game against AmaZulu. We had a friendly match yesterday where some of the guys who did not participate in the game against Celtic played. This is very important in making sure that everyone is both physical and mentally ready for the challenges ahead,” he added.
