Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse expressed his disappointment after the team played a goalless draw against AmaZulu in what was the Club’s final Absa Premiership game in 2011/2012 season.

Chiefs started the game as favourites playing in front of their home crowd following three straight wins but failed to find the back of the net as the game ended goalless.

The game also marked the end of tenure for Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse as Head Coach, who replaced Vladimir Vermezovic in April.

“I think the boys took the game lightly at the beginning and that put us under pressure towards the end. We hurried as we realised time was running out. This is one game we should have won to give our supporters something to cheer about going into the next season. Credit should go to AmaZulu who played well on the day,” said Khuse who together with Doctor Khumalo will assist the newly appointed Head Coach, Stuart Baxter.

The Mohlakeng born coach also lamented the failure of the Club to win a trophy this season; “It hurts not to win a trophy this season. I am sure I speak for everyone in this Football Club. However we have put plans to be back where we belong next season.

It will be important for us to put the smile back on our supporter’s faces. A lot is being done behind the scenes and I am quite confident that the future is bright for the Club.

Khuse also thanked the Executive Chairman and the Management for giving him an opportunity to lead the Club for the past couple of weeks; “It was a sign of confidence from the leadership of the Club. I am grateful for the confidence they have shown in us.

I would also like to thank my colleagues in the Technical Team, the Players, the Staff at Naturena and all the supporters for their support. We can also grow stronger next season,” he added speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning.

The players will undergo tests with our Medical Team today (Monday) and will be handed programmes to keep fit during the break.
