“We focus on the here and now,” says Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande ahead of Tuesday’s Absa Premiership clash away against the University of Pretoria.
There are five games left this season and Amakhosi are at the top of the league table, having 57 points from 25 games. Nearest rivals Mamelodi Sundowns are on 47 after 24 matches.
Chiefs play AmaTuks at Pretoria’s Tuks Stadium on Tuesday night (kick-off at 19:30). They are in tenth position, having booked 30 points from 24 games.
Earlier in the season, Amakhosi won 2-1 at home, thanks to two goals from Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Last Thursday, Chiefs beat AmaZulu 1-0. Bernard Parker was the match winner.
“AmaZulu was an important game,” reflects Katsande. “We lost our last game against Raja Casablanca, had a long journey home from Morocco and wanted to get back to winning ways.”
About the Tuks clash, the Zimbabwean midfielder adds: “There are three points at stake. The coach also stresses – ‘enjoy the moment and take one game at a time’. We are ready and hungry for the match.”
