The defending Champions of the 2013 Nedbank Cup, Kaizer Chiefs will be taking on the Nedbank Ke Yona Team this coming Sunday.

The much anticipated clash between the two teams will be featuring some of the future stars from Chiefs Development.

Assistant Coach Doctor Khumalo told the media at the packed PSL Headquarters that Chiefs will be fielding a competitive team on Sunday,

"We are ready and have been preparing for this game for a while now. You will also remember that there are no easy games for Chiefs. We will not field some of the best players especially those that have been overloaded in recent times. We have to manage the players carefully and not overload them as you know some have been on national duty recently in the CHAN tournament. We will mix some of the promising youngsters from our Development and the seniors that need game time," Khumalo said.

"We have played in the communications network's competitions and we are done with those (laughter erupted in the auditorium). It is time to deal with the banks' sponsored competitions. We have about 17 games to play in two months which is a demanding programme for us but we are prepared and we will do our best to win the game. We know this game is not about winning but focusing on development," continued Khumalo.

"The players such as Brilliant Khuzwayo, Lorenzo Gordinho and Simphiwe Mtsweni who are part of the first Team will have a chance to show their skills in the game," said Khumalo.

Coaches Shakes Mashaba, Mike Mangena and Owen Da Gama were responsible to select the talent for the Ke Yona Team.

The Nedbank Ke Yona Team was selected from the armature ranks as part of the acclaimed Nedbank Cup campaign from all the provinces.

The game is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 2nd February 2014 at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kickoff is at 15:00.
