We walk tall going to Rustenburg – Ertugral

Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Muhsin Ertugral was all smiles after the game on Saturday following another victory at Loftus Stadium against Moroka Swallows in the 1st leg of MTN 8 tournament. Chiefs is leading 2-0 going to Rustenburg this weekend.

The Glamour Boys once more played a fast-paced and chessboard style of football especially in the first half of the game. They knocked the ball around nicely at times. Gert Schalkwyk and Jose Torrealba’s combination was also a marvel to watch on the night.

“I think we played well again tonight and credit all goes to the boys for doing well. We put Swallows under a lot of pressure with our pace early in the game. We watched Swallows games on DVD and they did not surprise us at all. We were prepared. I also think we kept possession very well and that is one thing that is working for us currently” noted Ertugral.

Mokete Tsotetsi partnered Jonathan Quartey in the centre of defence and although they did not concede a goal Muhsin believes they need to improve their lines of communication.

“I am pleased we did not concede a goal in our home ground and this gives us more confidence going to Rustenburg this weekend. We again played well at the back and our overall organisation was good. There was one instant where I spoke to Jonathan Quartey; I thought he needs to communicate more with Mokete” he said confirming that Gert Schalkwyk has twisted his ankle and will be assessed by doctors on Monday.
