Defender, Thomas “Rambo” Sweswe has said that he and his teammates are preparing for a ‘war’ when Kaizer Chiefs square up against rivals, Orlando Pirates in the inaugural Carling Black Label Cup to be played at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 30 July 2011.

The Glamour Boys were back in training on Monday in preparation for what promises to be a thrilling match with supporters voting for the players they want to see on the starting line-up from the 1st June.

Thomas Sweswe who looks certain to make the team after getting more votes from the supporters told kaizerchiefs.com, “It is an opportunity for us to have another go at Orlando Pirates. It is another Soweto derby and everyone is determined to give their best for the team.

“It is quite interesting that the fans are the ones who will decide on who starts the game but as players our duty would be to win the cup for fans,” said Sweswe.

Meanwhile, Itumeleng Khune who has amassed the most votes more than any other player thanked the fans for voting him in, “There is still a long way to go as people are still going to vote. I do want to thank the fans though who have shown faith in me.”

Kaizer Motaung has however lost his place in the team following an injury that will see him being on the sidelines for 10 days.
