Willard ‘Cheese & Onion’ Katsande has told kaizerchiefs.com that he and his teammates are determined to fight for every trophy following an early exit in the MTN8.

The Glamour Boys are one of the only two teams who have 100% record in the league and they will be looking to consolidate their place in the Absa Premiership as they travel to face on-form Free State Stars in QwaQwa this weekend.

“It is our aim to fight for every trophy that is on offer this season. The league remains a priority and it is important that we protect our record as we face Free State Stars this weekend,” said Katsande who made a big impact towards the end of last season playing in the heart of the midfield.

Then assistant coach, Ace Khuse sang his praises saying the player ‘offers something different’ but this season he has found it tough to break in the team; “I continue to work hard in training. I am the kind of player that wakes up goes to training, gives his best and I am not doing anything different now. I am still as determined to make it in this team as I was last season.

Katsande admitted that the competition for places is even harder this season; “The Club has brought in new faces and this has created fierce competition for places in the squad. It has not been different in the middle of the park where Siyabonga Nkosi and Reneilwe Letsholonyane have been doing well. I am not discouraged though and I will continue working hard while waiting for my chance.

The Zimbabwean international praised unity in the team; “We are all united and players who are not in the team are supporting those who are in the team. The Club has set clear goals this season to Reclaim The Glory days and we are all united behind the theme,”

Willard Katsande made a total of 16 appearances for the team in all competitions last season.
