Football Manager, Bobby Motaung has revealed that the Club intends to strengthen the depth of the squad ahead of what promises to be once again a tough and thrilling season in the Absa Premiership.
Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com, Motaung who has been hard at work in the past couple of weeks revealed that the plans in consultation with Technical Team are underway to bolster the squad.
"That is a challenge that comes with winning; to try and stay at the top as long as you can," said the dashing Football Manager affectionately known in football circles as 'BobSteak'.
"We will strengthen the squad without a doubt as we will also be playing in the CAF Champions League next season."
Motaung said they will not make wholesale changes in the team; "We are bringing a centre back and a striker including players from our Youth Academy who will be coming as back up."
"We will not be making too many changes to a team that won us a double."
"It is important that whilst you bolster the squad with quality players that you don't compromise the harmony in the team."
"We do not want to bring star players and for them to sit on the bench," said Motaung.
He added that the Club is proud of Itumeleng Khune who arrived at the Club as a 12-year old; "It is good for the Club not only to produce players but also leaders."
"We have had in the past the likes of Neil Tovey, Lucas Radebe including Doc Khumalo and Brain Baloyi captaining the national team but to have Khune now as a leader both at the Club and Bafana Bafana is special. It gives us a footprint as a Club."
"It is going to serve as an inspiration to not only players at our Youth Academy but the youth in the country."
"Khune will continue to get guidance from the likes of our Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung a leader in his own right and the likes of former skipper, Ryder Mofokeng who led the Club for a decade."
Motaung called the fans to be calm during this transfer window and wait for the Club to make announcements; "We have been linked with quite a number of players in the media but we will make announcements in due course as a Club on who is coming or going."
"We would like to urge the supporters to excersise patience and keep their eyes on the Club's media platforms for updates on player movements," added Motaung.
