“It is becoming more and more obvious that at this stage of the league every match is difficult,” Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter indicates after just having concluded the pre-match training ahead of the trip to the Dobsonville Stadium.

Amakhosi will be looking at bouncing back to winning ways in an Absa Premiership fixture against the second from bottom Moroka Swallows.

“Once again, they have their back against the wall,” notes Baxter following the departure of their coach Fani Madida on Monday night. “The change of the technical team can work both ways. The players will want to use the game to prove a point or it might work against their morale.”

It is déjà vu, because the last time the two teams met in the first round of the Absa Premiership, coach Zeca Marques left The Birds nest two days before the match.

“We will put aside everything and focus on the match,” Baxter comments. “We will not be looking at their internal affairs.”

Willard Katsande is facing a one match ban after accumulating four yellow cards. “Ivan (Bukenya) has always done well when he comes on,” Baxter concludes. “But all the guys will be up for it tomorrow.”

Chiefs and Swallows played to a one-all draw in the first round. Amakhosi scored the equaliser through Reneilwe Letsholonyane after Lucky Baloyi – on loan from Chiefs – netted the opening goal for the Dube Birds. That draw ended Amakhosi’s winning streak of fifteen games back in October 2014.

The match at the Dobsonville Stadium will kick-off at 19:30.
