“We beat Bidvest Wits in our first home away from home fixture in the Cape of Love & Peace,” states coach Steve Komphela ahead of the tantalizing Absa Premiership clash between Amakhosi and Platinum Stars at the Cape of Love & Peace on Sunday, January 24.
It’s the second of a trio of Cape of Love & Peace matches played at Amakhosi’s alternative home, the Cape Town Stadium.
“We hope to continue our good results in the Cape against Dikwena,” enthuses Komphela. “We are looking forward to a great match and, of course, a win.”
The kick-off for this encounter between Chiefs and Stars is at 15:30.
“Chiefs’ fans thrive on confidence,” continues Komphela. “They will fully support their team even after losing in the Telkom Cup final, as they came in numbers to the Cape Town Stadium. We must just give them a win and the experience of watching Chiefs play.”
Tickets for all the matches are sold at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers at R60 for adults and R10 for children under the age of 12 (while stock lasts). Once the children’s tickets are finished, they will sell automatically at the adult’s rate.
“We want our supporters to enjoy watching Chiefs,” concludes Komphela. “Football is not only a sport. At Amakhosi we are looking as well at the greater influence to the society. We want to affect lives in a broader sense of emotions and perspectives.”
