This line up included DJ Twasa (Lesedi FM) who had the crowd in a spin as she dazzled them with her voice, a voice already affectionately known and loved.
In front of an Amakhosi crowd, the Soweto Ladies Club (run by Alex Gwamanda) and the Springs Home Sweepers, played in a curtain raiser that displayed their skill, speed and technical abilities. The Srings Home Sweepers were brought to us by another familiar face, Joseph ‘Skheshekheshe” Mkhonza.
The Soweto Ladies Club won 2 –1 with Gugu Gabuza and Isabel Mawela scoring for the winning club. Zodwa Ndlovu put one in the net for the Srings Home Sweepers. The Springs Home Sweepers were captained by Busisiwe Gumede while the Soweto Ladies Club followed under the leadership of Thando Dlamini.
The face of Women’s soccer was well represented by the likes of Portia Modise the current Banyana Banyana captain who displayed skill synonymous with the great players of our time.
Kelly Khumalo entertained the crowd with her beautiful dancers. The Amakhosi faithfully really enjoyed the eye candy and gave Kelly a true love and peace welcome.
The all women’s line up was completed by another Amakhosi Lady, DJ Shirley, who spun the decks and gave the crowd pulsating beats to dance to.
Genesis (the only male entertainers) graced the field with their popular tunes and kept the Amakhosi faithful on their feet and dancing to their beats. Five best- dressed supporters were also honored on the night. The supporters won hampers that consisted of Kaizer Chiefs merchandise like t-shirts and caps etc.
Although Kaizer Chiefs did not manage to score, the ambiance at FNB was one of Love and Peace. Kaizer Chiefs opposes abuse against women and children and will continue to support women and honor them for their achievements (on and off the field) and Love and Peace spirit.
Love and Peace
