Amakhosi coach Muhsin Ertugral is faced with a welcome problem as he winds down preparations for The Amakhosi’s do or die Nedbank Cup clash with Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon at the ABSA Stadium in Durban.

As he learnt on Thursday that he will have the option of selecting Tinashe Nengomasha for this all important cup tie, as Chiefs look to continue to hold their historic dominance in Cup matches over their PSL rivals with a win on Sunday.

Ertugral’s Thursday was further brightened by the news that questions marks over Gerald Sibeko and Onismor Bhasera’s availability for the game have also been done away with and the pair along with Nengomasha will be able to take to the field on Sunday.

Fighting Fit

Tinashe Nengomasha was given the Thursday training session to gauge his readiness for Sunday’s match, and after coming through the two hour long session, he then went for a fitness assessment which saw him receive the green light to play against Sundowns.

Left back Onismor Bhasera, who missed out playing for his country on Wednesday evening in a friendly international through a thigh injury, was also back in training Thursday and looks set to retain his left back slot.

Gerald Sibeko has overcome an ankle injury to also make himself available for selection for the Nedbank Cup last 16 match over the weekend in Durban.

Must have headache

A gleeful and smiling Ertugral spoke to kaizerchiefs.com after Thursday morning's training session and was delighted with being able to have the option of fielding either of the three players on Sunday.

“I just told Fani Madida, my assistant, that this weekend will be one of those rare moments this season where I have a full fit squad of players to choose from. It is the kind of problem that every coach wishes he had and to be able to have to give extra thought who to leave out is something that I would prefer over having to shuffle around trying to make up a squad of 18”.
