Yende who has earned himself a nickname, ‘Tembisa Express’ found the net on a regular basis in his previous club but struggled to open his account for the Glamour Boys.
Having came close during the Telkom Knockout games there was no denying the Chiefs no. 10 on Sunday as he finished superbly to level the matters for Amakhosi before Knowledge Musona grabbed the winner to take Amakhosi to the next round.
“The coach told me during the week that I was playing well and the only thing that was missing was for me to find the back of the net. I was confident at training ahead of the game that I would score against SuperSport (United).
I am glad that I have finally scored my first goal for the Club. Now that I have scored hopefully there are more to come,” he told kaizerchiefs.com with a smile on Tuesday afternoon.
Yende says the difference between Chiefs and other teams currently is ‘attitude’.
“We play every game to win and even when SuperSport United scored first we never panicked and we continued to play our normal game.
We were always positive that we were going to come back. I must also say that the fans also played a huge role on the stands as they kept cheering us on. We are all glad that we won the game for them,” continued Yende.
Having faced the Glamour Boys on the same competition last year while playing for a first division outfit Yende is aware the upcoming game against FC Cape Town will not be easy.
“They come to this game without any pressure,” he said. “It is important that we do not sit back and wait for them to attack us.
We need to play our normal game that means attack them from the first minute. I am confident that we are once again going to deliver the performance that is expected of us,” he added with confidence.
