Amakhosi midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane insists that Chiefs will be well prepared to record their first win of the 2011 – 2012 season, over arch rivals Orlando Pirates when they face the defending league champions in an Absa Premiership encounter in Johannesburg this Saturday.

Having already gone down three times, twice in the off season and most recently this past Saturday when they went down 1-0 in the MTN8 final to the Buccaneers, Yeye as Letsholonyane is known by his teammates is upbeat about Chiefs registering a win when they face Pirates this weekend.

“There has been talk that we having difficulty playing against Pirates, in my view I do not think that is a correct assessment” explained the soft spoken Chiefs midfielder who then went on to add.

“If you look at out three games against them the friendlies and the cup final they have been very close, we conceded a late goal in the Vodacom Challenge, the other game went to penalties and on Saturday we went all the way into extra time.”

He divulged as to how the Amakhosi can ensure that things turn out differently for them on Saturday, “all we need to do is take our chances. These previous games were all well balanced and, I feel that if we prepare well we will win.

This game is a derby and we don’t want to lose for a fourth time to Pirates, our aim is to be on top of the log at the end of the weekend.”

Lethsolonyane made his comeback after a month long injury lay off during the loss in the MTN8 final to Pirates, and his second game back against Ajax might have also ended in a loss but the influential midfielder is not letting his morale drop.

“I am pleased to have comeback and played in these two games without any recurrence of the injury which plagued me recently.

We might have lost in these matches but to me it is actually a source of motivation, I know we as a team can do better and losing these games will only drive us towards winning our next games.”

During the midweek defeat to Ajax Yeye also scored his first goal of the season which on a personal level further pleased him, “it was good to score given that it was just my second start of the season. Hopefully with this one goal to my name I can press on and score more.”
