Head of Development, Walter Steenbok believes that midfielder, Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane can be a key player for both Club and the country.

Carlos Alberto Parriera on Tuesday night handed the dreadlocked his second start in the Bafana Bafana shirt. Playing at alongside, Kagiso Dikgacoi, Yeye was at his usual best attacking with flair and defending when called to do so.

“Yeye has improved tremendously this season,” says Walter Steenbok who while as a coach at now defunct, Hellenic gave Letsholonyane a PSL debut.

“He has really worked on his weaknesses and credit should go to him and the rest of the Technical Team at the Club. His work rate is unbelievable. Reneilwe can play both short and long passing game and that has added variation in his game. HE is able to link up both defence and attack because of his game intelligence, endurance capacity and overall creativity. His ability to create and score goals has been crucial in his new found form for the team and that can be translated to Bafana Bafana.”

“Against Golden Arrows, the timing of his runs and his positioning was remarkable. Even on Tuesday against Jamaica, when Benni (McCarthy) combined brilliantly with (Katlego) Mpela, he was there in the box as an option. It is now up to him to continue working hard and anything is possibly after that,” concluded Steenbok.
