Injured midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane will go under the knife on Friday afternoon, team Physio, Dave Milner confirmed to kaizerchiefs.com.

The industrious midfielder affectionately known to kaizerchiefs.com as ‘Maestro’ could be sidelined for the rest of the season after injuring his knee when Bafana Bafana played Zambia in a practice match at Rand Stadium last week.

“It is devastating to get an injury at this stage of the season, a setback as I wanted to contribute to the success of the team during the second half of the season,” said Letsholonyane who was forced to sit out for eight weeks before the start of the season after getting injured during the Carling Black Label.

“It has been a difficult season for me having started the same season watching on the sidelines but then again these things happen in football.

“My focus now though is on recovery. I am going for an operation this afternoon and will start rehabilitation in the next couple of weeks. We have an exceptional medical team at the Club and I am sure like they have done before they will again do a sterling job.

“I knew when it happened that is was worse than the injury I sustained early this season. I am going to follow the rehabilitation process and God will do the rest.

‘Maestro’ believes that despite his absence the Glamour Boys have enough firepower to challenge for honours this season; “We have 15 games to go and the gap between ourselves and the leaders is not huge. I strongly believe that we have capable squad that can go all the way this season. I trust my teammates they will give all they have to ensure we reach our goals this season,”
