Reneilwe Letsholonyane has said that he is still hopeful of making it to the 23 men squad to represent South Africa during the 2010 Fifa World Cup to be staged on the home soil between June 11- July 11, 2010.

The Soweto born midfielder was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com ahead of joining his teammates for the last camp to be held in Johannesburg following two camps held in Brazil and Germany.

Letsholonyane was used sparingly by coach Carlos Alberto Parriera during the two camps and came on as a second half substitute during the 2-0 against Jamaica in Frankfurt last Wednesday.

“I still believe I have what it takes to make the final team. I have made a lot of sacrifices this season to achieve my dream of representing my country at the World Cup. I continue working hard every day but the rest depends on the Almighty,” said the player affectionately known in football circles as “Yeye”.

‘Yeye’ said he was hopeful that the European based players will join the team as soon as they finish their programme in Europe to allow the preparations to go smoothly, “It is important that we all work together in ensuring that we deliver our promise during the World Cup.”

“The past two camps, first in Brazil and then in Germany has helped us a great deal as players. We are now at the final stages of preparations and it is important that we all give our best as professionals. A lot has been achieved already but with the kick off approaching fast there is lot of hard work ahead,” he added.

Club teammates, Itumeleng Khune and Siphiwe Tshabalala join Reneilwe Letsholonyane on the 29 men squad named by Carlos Alberto Parriera on Friday. The squad will be trimmed to 23 ahead of the World Cup.
