Zothwane’s football future still hangs in the balance after the judge sitting in on behalf of the PSL to hear his case made a call on Saturday that he will deliver his ruling to the concerned parties by Wednesday 2nd August. Papi and his defence team are contesting a contract held by his ‘former’ club Golden Arrows that they claim he signed prior to his contract expiring at the end of May. The player and his lawyers claim that the contract in possession of Arrows is a fraudulent one. Zothwane first appeared before the disciplinary tribunal on Friday the 21st July and on that occasion after hearing argument’s from both sides the judge asked all parties to return for a second hearing on the 29th July.
After a lengthy proceeding on Saturday - evidence was presented by a forensic hand writing expert, who the judge had earlier asked for to investigate and ascertain whether the signature on the contract in possession of Golden Arrows is that of Papi or not. It is believed that such an investigation was carried out and the findings were brought to the attention of the judge and all the parties involved were made aware of the findings.
A spokes person for Kaizer Chiefs said on Saturday that the Club will await the judge’s decision on Wednesday before making any further comments on the matter.
