Dumsani Zuma has recovered from the flu that kept him away from Kaizer Chiefs’ last fixture against Maritzburg United and he’s back in the starting XI for this Sunday afternoon’s MTN8 clash against SuperSport United.
Bhongolethu Jayiya, meanwhile, gets his first start this season. The midfielder did come on, however, in the league match against Baroka FC on 14 August.
Coach Giovanni Solinas has otherwise decided to keep faith with the same team that played to a goalless draw against Maritzburg.
Chiefs have a few players out due to a variety of reasons. George Maluleka is still out as a result of an injury, although he’s recovering well, while Gustavo Páez is nurturing a flu and won’t be available for this afternoon’s cup game. Joseph Molangoane is, of course, out for a longer period.
Amakhosi signed two new players last week, Lebogang Manyama and Mario Booysen, but both are not fully match fit as yet.
The Glamour Boys easily went past Free State Stars in the MTN8 quarter-final, winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Dumsani Zuma, Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat.
Amakhosi will face Matsatsantsa for the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final at Atteridgeville’s Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon, 26 August 2018 (kick-off is at 15:00).
