Zvasiya: I would like to follow in the footsteps of Rhoo

Lincoln ‘Harare’ Zvasiya has expressed his wish to follow in the steps of legend, Lucas Radebe, who won trophies with the Glamour Boys and went to play in Europe.

Zvasiya, who was handed a debut by Head Coach Vladimir Vermezovic in December against Mamelodi Sundowns, was given the no. 19 jersey on his arrival at the Club in August 2011.

“Bra Rich (Richard Langa) and Tinashe (Nengomasha) told me that the number 19 jersey was used by Lucas Radebe. I feel honoured to be using the same number as him.

“I would like to follow in his footsteps and win things with the Club and become a legend here,” said the Harare-born defender in the latest Amakhosi magazine.

He is also aware that he will have to work hard to achieve his goal. “I want to continue working hard. I am here in South Africa today because I work hard. There are no shortcuts in football, the same as in life.”

Catch Lincoln Zvasiya and his teammates at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in PE when Kaizer Chiefs visit Jomo Cosmos and at Soccer City, FNB Stadium, on Saturday, 18 February, 2012, when they welcome Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows.
