Zwane Forced to Make 4 Changes Against Swallows

An assortment of injuries that have recently hit Kaizer Chiefs and a suspension will see the team play their 30th fixture of the 2021/22 season, which is against Swallows FC, with a number of changes in the squad.

A few more players have joined the medical room including Siyabonga Ngezana and Leonardo Castro, who started the last game. Cole Alexander will miss the last game of the season after being booked for the fourth time in last weekend’s encounter against Sekhukhune United.

Chiefs will want to win the match and move into the top three on the log and relegation-threatened Swallows will be looking to win and survive the dreaded drop to the First Division.

Chiefs are currently 4th on the log with 46 points after 29 matches. Swallows are second from the bottom with 25 points in the bag – they have also played 29 league matches.

Amakhosi were victors in their last match against Sekhukhune last week, thanks to a goal scored by Ramahlwe Mphahlele. The visitors have struggled in recent matches and only managed a draw against Chippa United in their last outing.

Coach Arthur Zwane and his technical team have made four changes to last weekend’s team as the injured Siyabonga Ngezana is replaced in defence by Njabulo Ngcobo who last played on 27 April in Durban. In midfield Cole Alexander will have his position taken by Phathutshedzo Nange and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will be replaced by Kearyn Baccus. The last change will see Happy Mashiane come on for the injured Leonardo Castro.

On the bench, Chiefs will also have Keletso Sifama and Mduduzi Shabalala who has just returned from Belgium and Spain.

Chiefs will adopt a 4-3-3 formation in this match.

The goalkeeper is Bvuma.

Even though there’s a change in personnel, the defensive set up has not changed as Ramahlwe Mphahlele is joined by Ngcobo at centre-back. Reeve Frosler is on the left and Njabulo Blom will be on the right.

Holding the midfield is Nange. He will be supported by Baccus and Bernard Parker.

Happy Mashiane will play on the right and Sabelo Radebe on the right of Amakhosi’s attack.

Khama Billiat leads Amakhosi’s attack.

Parker will wear the captain’s armband.

Match officials are referee Masixolo Bambiso, assisted by Moeketsi Molelekoa and Cledwin Baloyi. The fourth official is Joseph Makhubo.

The final DStv Premiership match of the season between the Phefeni Glamour Boys and the Dube Birds commences at 15:00 at FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.

The match will be live on SuperSport’s channel 203 on DStv, with live commentary on various SABC radio stations. The Club will also provide regular updates of the action on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
