Other legends that were recognized for their contribution at the Club on the night were ‘Ten Ten’ Ndzimande, ‘Computer’ Lamola, ‘Banks’ Setlhodi and Michael ‘Bizzah’ Dlamini.
The Soweto born winger who mesmerized teams with his pace and ‘never say die’ attitude called off his playing days in February this year - taking a place in the Technical Team.
“I can’t put it into words how I felt to be honoured by the Chairman,” said Arthur Zwane speaking to kaizerchiefs.com at the Chiefs Village on Friday morning.
“I want to thank all the people who have supported me during my playing career. I cannot forget God who showed me the way that this is a Club for me where I can contribute. I will forever be grateful to him,” he said.
Meanwhile the Chiefs Legends at the Village also joined Arthur Zwane as they are on their way to Upington and Kimberley this weekend for a series of games and coaching clinics.
“It feels like joining another team but with players you have known for a while,” he said with a smile.
“It will be for the first time for me to feature for the legend team this weekend. I know some of the guys here quite well, Thabang (Lebese), Doc (Doctor Khumalo), I was also told Shakes Khungwane is coming, there is also Frank Makua…I have played with most of these guys. I am going there to enjoy myself and the most important part is that we will be doing some community work and coaching clinics - something very close to my heart,” added Zwane.
