STADIUM MANAGEMENT SA ALL SET FOR EPIC SOWETO DERBY

STADIUM Management South Africa (SMSA) is all set for the Soweto Derby – the epic Absa Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 4 March (Gates open at 11.30am. Kick Off: 3.30pm).

Stand tickets each cost R70 (Level 5), R90 (Level 1) and R170 (Level 2) with General Parking (R40), Exclusive Parking (R80), VVIP (R120) and Bus Parking (R300) are available across all Computicket (www.computicket.com), Shoprite/Checkers retail outlets around the country with information also available on the SMSA website, www.stadiummanagement.co.za.

There is public transportation available on event day through Metrorail, Rea Vaya; Top6 Taxis and KTK Transport Shuttles. A public transport information schedule will be placed on the SMSA website and social platforms on the week of this highly-anticipated fixture.

In terms of safety and security measures – there are over 1800 State (SAPS), provincial, local government, private safety and security personnel that will be deployed in terms of the national sporting and recreational public safety legislation to assist in securing arguably one of the largest and most spectacular football league events in the southern hemisphere.

SMSA has successfully staged over 30 Soweto Derbies at its 87 436-seater facility with the fixture arguably one of the leading sporting showpieces in the southern hemisphere, garnering a worldwide television audience.

“We pride ourselves on the delivery of world class services at all of the venues we manage. Public safety and security procedures are high priority and we always strive to acquire the support services of the leaders in the field, including our specialist risk advisor, Patrick Ronan,” assured SMSA Communications Manager, Sisa Majola.

“Our planning for this fixture started in December, as it is always the case with an event of this magnitude. All eyes are on FNB Stadium, our City, our country and the two premier Soweto football clubs.

“However, in order to achieve this, we need the assistance of our most important stakeholder – you, the supporters, who attend this very special football event. As always we appeal to all patrons to come to the venue early, adhere to messages and instructions from security personnel and always consider the safety of oneself and co-supporters.”

Spectators are advised against bringing any prohibited and restricted items into the Stadium such as any form of liquor, any form of weapon, fireworks, flares, lasers, sharp pointed objects, metal objects including cans; offensive posters, banners, flags & banners and/or any other item which Stadium Security consider a safety risk to other patrons.
