Kaizer Chiefs in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Museum and the Department of Sports in the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will be hosting approximately 100 children from various under-12 soccer teams from around the Port Elizabeth area.

The Amakhosi will be hosting the kids at an hour long soccer clinic, which will be held at the Wilson Stadium in the Port Elizabeth suburb of Kwa-Zakhele.

Chiefs, who will be in Port Elizabeth over the weekend for a charity game that the club will be playing against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday afternoon, are according to communications manager Thebe Mohatle looking forward to hosting Saturday afternoon’s coaching clinics.

Mohatle said; "For us it is not just about going to Port Elizabeth and playing a match and returning home, we always endeavour to give something back to the community. Participating in these clinics is the perfect opportunity for our players to interact with these young budding footballers of the future. If we are able to be the inspiration for just one child to reach their full potential, then we have done our job."

Eado Suka of the Nelson Mandela Bay department of sports commended Chiefs for wanting to be part of the coaching clinics, as she explained, "it was good for us to see Chiefs I am sure that youngsters attending the clinics will thoroughly enjoy them, and I don’t think that a number of the kids will get much sleep on Friday evening in anticipation of a once in a life time meeting with their heroes."

The coaching clinics, which will see the involvement of Chiefs players such as Shaun Bartlett, Scara Ngobese and Port Elizabeth hometown boy Patrick Mayo, will begin at 14h30 and will last for approximately one hour.
