Kaizer Chiefs will head to the North West Province on Saturday for their penultimate game of the 2022/23 season against SuperSport United at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Phokeng.
Coach Arthur Zwane will face a challenging task to get his players focused on the league match after a tough Soweto Derby match in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Amakhosi will want to win the DStv Premiership match to narrow the points gap between themselves and Matsatsantsa, with a view to ultimately leapfrogging them in the last game of the season. Chiefs currently have 44 points and their hosts have collected 48 points. They both have played 28 games, with SuperSport lying third, one place above Chiefs, in fourth.
In the first round, Chiefs were victorious as they beat Matsatsantsa 2-1 at FNB Stadium, with Caleb-Bonfils Bimenyimana on the scoresheet.
The medical team and the coaches will spend the next few days assessing players who sustained some knocks and bruises from the last game, and ensuring they are ready the for next assessment.
