Chirambadare is finding his groove
Edmore Chirambadare was enjoying himself on the wing on Saturday and the Amakhosi supporters were buoyant whenever the Zimbabwean went on one of his darting runs.
Kaizer Chiefs dominated the proceedings in the first half, but allowed Baroka FC to come back into the game during the second stint.
“I was happy with my performance,” Chirambadare proudly reflected on his performance, “I want to continue like that. I will continue pushing to improve and to contribute to the team’s overall performance.”
Saturday’s game was Chirambadare’s tenth start in a league game wearing the Gold and Black jersey. He came on as a substitute in two more fixtures. He hasn’t as yet found the back of the net in a league clash, although he did score in a cup match.
The speedy Zimbabwean winger was, of course, less happy about the team not getting a win with the Baroka fixture finishing in a two-all draw. “They were very good on the day,” admitted the 25-year-old. “Their defence was well organised and they played to their strength of man marking. They didn’t leave us any space for our forwards to manoeuvre.
“A draw was not what we were looking for. We were fighting for a win. However, as much as we are disappointed with the draw, we will keep pushing until the last match of the season.”
Chiefs trail log leaders Cape Town City with three points with both teams having played 21 matches. “We haven’t started counting points and the number of the games remaining,” the Zimbabwean concludes. “We are still taking it game by game at this stage.”
