Itumeleng Khune on the hand makes a welcome return for the first time in 2019 after an injury that saw him miss the second part of the previous season after a shoulder injury he sustained at training at the end of 2018. He will however start on the bench this evening.
With Khune on the bench, coach Middendorp will start with Daniel Akpeyi in goals. The Nigerian goalminder kept a clean sheet in the last Absa Premiership match against Black Leopards in Durban. He will have the same team in front of his with Reeve Frosler on the right, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya on the left, Mulomowandau Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso will in central defence.
George Maluleka will once again hold the midfield with Lebogang Manyama in front of him. Bernard Parker and Lazalous Kambole will the on the left and right wings, respectively.
Amakhosi’s attack will be led Samir Nurković with the assistance of Khama Billiat, who is the only change from the previous game, coming on for Leonardo Castro.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele has picked up an injury, while Bruce Bvuma is still nursing an injury he sustained during warm in the last match.
Bernard Parker is the captain of the ship that is expected to sail past Matsatsantsa this evening.
This evening’s match between Chiefs and United is the first home game of the season hosted at the iconic FNB stadium. Kick-off is at 18:00.
This evening’s referee is Olani Kwinda. His will be assisted by Luyanda Pupuma and Emmanuel De Sani. Victor Hlungwani is the fourth official.
