Chiefs Call For Safety During Festive
Chiefs Call For Safety During Festive

Posted in Features, News on Dec 16, 2021.

With the festive season upon us, and as many people prepare to journey to their respective holiday destinations, we urge everyone to abide by road safety rules and stay safe at all times.

For those who will be embarking on long-distance drives, make sure your vehicle is roadworthy, do not drink and drive, stop when you are exhausted or every two hours and use public transport where necessary.

It’s important to adhere to the lockdown rules and remember the curfew time as driving without a permit during those hours is illegal. This could also pose a challenge if you are caught by the law officers or when you claim for insurance for accidents.

We call upon our supporters to avoid frivolous spending over the festive season, but rather prioritise saving money for ‘Januworry’ expenditures towards school fees and other educational expenses such as uniforms and stationery.

We also need to be vigilant at all times so we don’t fall victim to crime because criminal elements are hard at work and ready to pounce during this time of the year.

With the Covid-19 fourth wave upon us, we continue to remind everyone to be cautious by following all the health safety protocols set out by the Department of Health. Let’s continue to wear masks, wash hands regularly and sanitise. Our advice is that we should avoid travelling if it is not necessary at this time as we may be travelling with the virus and end up spreading it to the elderly and those who are vulnerable at home in other provinces.

We need to ensure we behave ourselves, avoid large gatherings or superspreader events. We need to avoid hospitalisation as the system is overwhelmed and burdened at this time with hospital wards struggling due to limited bed space and overworked health workers.

Even though we are still busy with our league programme until 22 December when we play our last game of the year at FNB Stadium against Maritzburg United, we would like to thank our Kaizer Chiefs colleagues for the hardwork this year and wish them and their families a great festive season.

Lastly, we would like to thank our sponsors and supporters across the globe for their support and wish them happy festive holidays.
