After playing out a 1-1 draw at home in the first-leg of the MTN8 Cup, Kaizer Chiefs will be in the nation’s capital, Pretoria, to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the second installment of the semi-final in the winner-takes-all competition.

The two teams come into the big match this afternoon on the back of midweek league matches against other top sides. Chiefs faced SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium and lost the match 0-1. Sundowns on the other hand were victorious against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium in the DStv Premiership.

The 1-1 score gives Sundowns a bit of an advantage as they managed an away goal in the first round. Chiefs will need to win this afternoon or play to a 2-2 draw to advance to the final of the MTN8.

Kaizer Chiefs coach, Molefi Ntseki has made a number of changes in the team when compared to the one that played on Wednesday. Starting with the goalkeeping department, Itumeleng Khune is replaced by Brandon Petersen, who missed the last game due to a family bereavement. The defence will see Reeve Frosler get a run ahead of Zitha Kwinika, and there are two more changes in the attacking department, with Pule Mmodi coming in for Christian Saile and Tebogo Potsane replacing Jasond Gonzalez.

Chiefs will keep to a 4-3-3 formation for this game.

Petersen is back in goal.

At left-back, Chiefs have S’fiso Hlanti. In the centre of defence, we have Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango. The right hand side of defence is manned by Reeve Frosler.

Edson Castillo is in midfield and will work with Yusuf Maart and Letlhogonolo George Matlou.

Back from injury is Potsane, who will play on the left wing, while Mmodi will be running on the right flank.

Ashley Du Preez leads the attack.

Petersen reclaims the captain’s armband this evening.

The officials in charge of the match are referee, Luxolo Badi, who will be assisted by Kenneth Mamegwa and Lubalalo Pitsha. The fourth official is Buhlebendawo Jobela.

The much-awaited Wafa-Wafa second-leg semifinal between Amakhosi and Masandawana starts at 15:00 at a sold-out Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, in Atteridgeville.
