Coach Arthur Zwane and his troops will refocus their attention back to the domestic league campaign this week as they prepare to host Lamontville Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The Glamour Boys were involved in the round of 32 of the Nedbank Cup against Maritzburg United in Pietermaritzburg last Friday, a match Amakhosi won 2-0 after extra time. New signing Christian Saile Basomboli made his first start for the Glamour Boys, and netted his first goal for the team, with attacker Ashley du Preez scoring the second.
Sunday’s visitors, Arrows are also through to the round of 16 of the national league cup after beating first division side Pretoria Callies, 2-1.
The match against Arrows will be Amakhosi’s second home game in Polokwane, following the match against another KZN side, Royal AM on 29 January, which Amakhosi won 2-0.
On the log standings Chiefs are 5th with 28 points after 19 games. Arrows, on the other hand, are in 13th position after collecting 22 points in 20 matches.
This enthralling DStv Premiership encounter between Amakhosi and Abafana Besthende takes place on Sunday, 19 February at 15:30.
Tickets for the match cost R60 per ticket and supporters are urged to go to their nearest Computicket outlets, including Shoprite/Checkers, to purchase their match ticket as soon as possible so they don’t miss out on the action at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
