Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin has decided to keep the same team that played on Saturday against Petroleos de Luanda of Angola in the CAF Champions League. Chiefs won the group stage game 2-0 at FNB Stadium.
As the Glamour Boys face Maritzburg United this evening in the DStv Premiership with the same starting XI, the few noticeable changes will be on the bench with the return of Ramahlwe Mphahlele after missing the CAF game due to a suspension and Samir Nurković who was injured.
Daniel Akpeyi will be in goal and hoping to keep another clean sheet.
In defence from left to right, Chiefs will have Philani Zulu at left-back, Saturday’s goal scorer Mulomowandau Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso will be in central defence, while Reeve Frosler will be on the right of Chiefs’ defence.
Willard Katsande will again work with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo in midfield. There will be support from another goal scorer from Saturday, Happy Mashiane on the left and Bernard Parker on the right. They will also be linking up with the attackers.
Lebogang Manyama and Lazalous Kambole will be in attack.
The referee is Phillip Tinyani. He is assisted by Sandile Dilikane and Tumi Mohlala. The fourth official is Lalelani Mngadi
Katsande will keep the captain’s armband.
The Team of Choice and Amakhosi will kick off at 18:00 at the Harry Gwala Stadium in the capital city of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg. No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be live on SuperSport Channel 202 and SABC radio with regular updates on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
