Following the conclusion of the FIFA international break, which ends today (Tuesday), DStv Premiership football resumes when Kaizer Chiefs welcome Stellenbosch to the FNB Stadium for a DStv Premiership clash on Saturday evening.
The international break has meant that coach Arthur Zwane needed to prepare his team sans some of his key players, who were called up to their respective national teams. These players, which include Samkelo Zwane, Mduduzi Shabalala, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Edmilson Dove, are expected back on Wednesday and Thursday.
Saturday’s game is the third meeting of the season between the two sides. They first met in the MTN8 at the Danie Craven stadium, won on penalties by Amakhosi and then faced each other in the league at Cape Town stadium, a match also won by Chiefs, 3-0.
Chiefs have won their last four matches and are looking to extend the run as they eye a CAF competition spot come the end of the season.
On the log, Chiefs are in position four, with 37 points in the kitty after 23 games. Stellenbosch are eighth, with 30 points collected in 23 outings.
Coach Arthur Zwane will have defender Siyabonga Ngezana after back after he missed the last match due to being suspended. Chiefs will, however, be without the last game’s winning goal scorer, Yusuf Maart. The midfielder received his fourth booking as he was celebrating the goal and will sit this game out.
Tickets for this riveting DStv Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and Stellies are on sale through www.ticketpros.co.za and other outlets including Spar Supermarkets, Sasol filling stations, Boxer and POSTNET at R60 per ticket. There will also be tickets for the Amakhosi Family Zone starting at R220. Kick-off is at 17:30 on Saturday, 1 April at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
