The club unveiled their new home and away kits for the current 2018/19 season on 16 July and both jerseys have been receiving great reviews.
The magazine looked at all the jerseys from leading football leagues in the world, including England, Italy, Brazil, USA, Germany, Spain, Argentina. However, those of Kaizer Chiefs were selected as the best from hundreds of jerseys.
“This is major for us as Kaizer Chiefs,” says Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung. “It’s also great for the PSL and Africa as a whole, as we are the only club representing both the league and the continent on this platform.”
After rating the Kaizer Chiefs jersey as the best from their top 20, the magazine mentioned: “Oh yes, Kaizer Chiefs have produced two delightful kits for the current season: first, a gold home jersey with black stripes which represent ‘traditional spears rising together to create a sense of motion and unity on the field’.
“The second is a stunning purple-bodied, black-sleeved change strip with some fetching splashes of gold on the collar, crest and Nike swoosh. Now, where can we buy one … or 10?”
The new home kit features a modern design with the iconic gold shirt complemented by bold diagonal black stripes running across the torso.
The away jersey is dominated by bold, regal purple - paying homage to African royalty - strong and unbreakable like the team. The vibrant away kit is completed with black shorts and purple socks.
“Our long-standing partnership with Nike has produced many distinctive kit designs that have become part of our history, and this year is no different,” adds Jessica Motaung,
“Amakhosi supporters can walk tall with pride because they know they are wearing the world’s best jersey,” concludes Motaung. “We are once again thankful to Nike for another iconic home and away jersey.”
The jersey is available online at www.kcdigistore.com for international shoppers, Kaizer Chiefs retail stores and other leading retailers in South Africa.
The top 10 jerseys according to FourFourTwo are Kaizer Chiefs home and way, Sampdoria, Fulham, Aston Villa, Boca Juniors, Wolves, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tigres and Inter Milan.
