Kaizer Chiefs are in Cape Town for the second time this month, but this time for a DStv Premiership against Stellenbosch FC. Amakhosi were in the Mother City just over a fortnight ago when they knocked Cape Town City FC out of the MTN8 Cup.
This evening’s match is both teams’ last DStv Premiership game before the upcoming FIFA International break. Chiefs are looking at making it two league wins in a row this evening after beating AmaZulu 3-0 in their last game last Saturday, while Stellenbosch want to win after losing 2-1 to SuperSport United on the weekend.
Coach Molefi Ntseki will be delighted to have Reeve Frosler back in his team after he missed the last match through illness. The defender will start the game, coming in for S’fiso Hlanti, who is not available for this encounter. That will be the only change as coach Ntseki hopes for a repeat of Saturday’s result.
The coach will once more adopt a 4-3-3 set against the Winelands team.
Brandon Petersen retains his position as the goalkeeper.
At the back, Amakhosi have Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango at centre-back. Frosler is at left-back and Zitha Kwinika will play his second game of the season at right-back.
Last weekend’s goalscorer, Edson Castillo, will hold the midfield again this evening. He is joined by Yusuf Maart and Mduduzi Mdantsane in the engine room.
In attack, last Saturday’s brace scorer, Pule Mmodi, will be on the left wing, and the provider of those two goals, Tebogo Potsane, is on the right wing.
Ashley Du Preez leads Amakhosi front line.
Petersen is the captain.
Blowing the whistle is referee Thando Ndzandzeka. He will be assisted by Elphas Sitole and Thabang Matlong. The fourth official is Thabo Twayise.
Amakhosi and Stellies start at 19:30 at Athlone Stadium. The DStv Premiership match is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
