“I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the Zwane family for the passing of ‘Mama Thembi’,” says Motaung, “Mama Thembi was a very dedicated member of staff. She served the Club with excellence for many years.”
The sad news of the passing of ‘Mama Thembi’ who served in the services department as a cleaner came through on Tuesday, 18 August due to illness. She was 56 years old.
“We enjoyed her smile and the warmth that she brought to the office. She was a jolly member of staff who interacted well with everyone. The Village is shattered by her passing. Death be not proud. We will miss Mama Thembi,” adds the Chairman.
She is survived by her two daughters.
The staff have paid their tribute to Mama Thembi since the news emerged on Tuesday.
“She was very humble and always obliging. No task was too big for her to do,” says Admin Manager Abdulla Mayet.
Supporters Structures Manager Tracy Williams says: “A humble, kind and brave soul who always had a smile on her face no matter the burdens she carried. She was a friend to everyone and her enthusiasm for life was contagious.”
“Mama Thembi’s contributions to this company during her 14 years of dedicated and selfless service will be cherished for time immemorial. Believe me, her contributions to this company will not be forgotten,” concludes Motaung.
We will find solace in Psalms 46:1 which says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Elsie ‘Mama Thembi’ Zwane will be buried on Saturday, 22 August in Orlando West. The ceremony will be observed under Covid-19 regulations of only 50 people allowed to attend funeral service.
