Chippa Reserves were first to get off the mark with Man of the Match Ronaldo Maarman opening the scoring with an easy tap-in from a cross in the 5th minute of the game. Chiefs Reserves retaliated with a 1,2-play involving Keletso Sifama, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and finished by Khumbulani Ncube in the 22nd minute. In the heat of Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium, the referee instituted a water break.
The teams went into the break on 1-1 parity after referee added two minutes to his clock. Arthur Zwane went to the dressing room with a notepad of 5 goal attempts and whopping 69% of ball possession.
Chippa Reserves restored their lead in the 47th minute with another goal after a fumble by Mokwena, allowing Maarman to slot in his second of the match. Once again Chiefs Reserves responded with a beautifully taken goal from poacher Keletso Sifama.
A confusion in the box led to a third goal from Chippa Reserves, Buhle Mhlaleki capitalising to make it 3-2 in the 56th minute.
In the 61st minute, Arthur Zwane brought on striker Sibusiso Milazi for Khumbulani Ncube.
A route one set Sihle Mbhle through to setup Lebohang Lesako to calmly slot in an equaliser to conclude a six-goal thriller.
Chiefs Reserves pressed hard for the winner, but referee’s five-minute added time could not assist to break the deadlock.
Chiefs Reserves dominated the entertaining game and will not be entirely disappointed with a take away of one point which means a leapfrog to 6th on the log.
