Kaizer Chiefs travelled to Morocco on Wednesday morning to play against the Egyptian side Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League Cup final this weekend.
Kaizer Chiefs departed on a Charter Flight from OR Tambo and arrived in Casablanca on Wednesday evening safely. Chiefs travelled with their entire team and support officials for this historic match.
“We are looking forward to the journey,” said Jessica Motaung, “this is a historic moment for the Club. It has been a long journey for the team and the time has arrived to complete what we have started on 29th November in Cameroon.”
The match is scheduled to play on Saturday, 17th July at Mohammed V- Stadium. Kickoff is 20:00 in Morocco which will be 21:00 in SA.
“It is a special moment for our supporters and partners,” said Motaung, “we would not have reached this stage without their support. We are humbled to represent South Africa at this pinnacle of continental football. We will carry the flag and carry the hopes of the Nation with pride.”
Amakhosi will return home on Monday, 19th July.
